After over 40 years service Winterfield GC said goodbye to our long serving Greenkeeper Stevie Nicol with a presentation in the Clubhouse on Wednesday 1st April.
Stevie started work here after leaving school a few years ago now, and is well known both on the course as a very low handicapper, and in his working role keeping up our beautiful course.
But it’s not goodbye forever, Stevie will still be around the club and has agreed to provide cover for holidays etc during the busy golfing season. We wish him well in his ‘semi’ retirement.
The picture shows Stevie being congratulated and thanked for his many years of service by Ladies’ Captain Chris McArthur and Men’s Captain Oliver Turnbull.
We are pleased to welcome a new assistant greenkeeper later this month, when Byron Klawiskowski starts what we hope will be another long career with us on 20 April.
